castlekeepdesigns.com
THE website for  fine jewelry made
with pearls ...

Your source for 21st Century jewelry in
semi-precious stones
and other  colored stones
There are some pearl pieces in longer
necklaces and one in Turquoise and
two in
Blue ...
and one in
Green ...
My pearl necklaces are either strung on
top quality jeweler's wire OR
traditionally strung / knotted on silk.
Either way they will have a soft "drape"
and the wearer will look rich and
poised!
Most pearls on market today are from
China.
Australia, South Sea Islands, Japan,
Tennessee, are other sources.
Almost all pearls are begun by people
inserting a tiny piece of pearl into the
oyster.
The oyster does the rest!
Someone has figured out how to
persuade the oyster to make shaped
pearls: i.e. state of Texas!
FYI.  There are natural colored pearls.
And there are dyed pearls.
Pearls absorb dye readily and
permanently.  It does not come off.
Period!
And sometimes just heating the pearls
without using dye will change their
color!

A word about the above 16" strand of
pearls.      $20.
An affordable beautiful gift for
someone you love.

Back in the 50's ... your grandmother
probably wore a pearl necklace.  Maybe
a triple strand choker.  Very Stylish.
"Everyone" had a string!  Some people
knew that they were made of glass!
Some people didn't.
Made no difference!
They were lovely, perfectly round, and
the color that pearls acquire after being
worn for years. (A creamy mellow
white.  Instant antique!)   And more
important, they were affordable!
New glass pearls are still available.
Still beautiful.  By all means, the old
rule holds: buy them if you like them!
And that's what that strand up there is!
I found them in an antique store in
Pennsylvania...  restrung them on
silk... very beautiful and very wearable.

ENJOY!
